Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum + annual company bonus
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Winnersh, RG41 (Hybrid - 3days office)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join our Finance Shared Services team. Reporting to the Head of Group Finance Shared Services, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial results, maintaining compliance, and improving processes.

 

This role includes overseeing one direct report and may involve occasional out-of-hours work during period-end processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee month-end financial close and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
  • Review and analyse financial results, addressing discrepancies and queries.
  • Manage key accounting areas, including VAT returns, accruals, bonuses, and intercompany agreements.
  • Support the Group Annual Audit and ensure compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Handle regular reporting on fixed assets, project accounting, and KPIs.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Finalist, part-qualified ACCA accountant with proven demonstrable professional experience in transactional finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and regulations

Skills:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., vlookups, pivot tables).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a proactive and professional attitude.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Experience with systems such as SAP BPC, Dynamics 365 Finance, Chrome River, Medius Flow, Blackline, SAP SAC, and Microsoft Office Suite.
